Press release from: Efektim

The first phase of the “Helping Africa” charity drive came to a successful conclusion on Wednesday May 25th, 2011. Donations in the form of clothing, toys, school supplies for children, medical kits and similar material donations are now packed, sent and prepared to be shipped to Mozambique, Africa. They will be shipped by our partner ESA Logistics right at the start of June 2011.

The drive in Mozambique is organized by the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park to support the improvement of the dismal living conditions for the residents living on its territory. Second deadline for the collection of material donations for Mozambique is September 25th, 2011. The “Helping Africa” drive can also be supported by financial donations for specific projects.

A number of prominent European organizations decided to support the Helping Africa charity drive, which is organized in the Czech Republic since January 2011 to help the children and their families in Mozambique, Africa. Among these are such companies as the BMW Invelt, Diakonie Broumov, Česká charita, Arcidiecézní charita Praha – Sv. Terezie or EFEKTIM. Others that also decided to support the drive were employees of Colgate-Palmolive, Neverland Kindergarten and Nursery, Waldorf Kindergarten, Our Submarine Kindergarten and a number of other schools and kindergartens and organizations, but also individuals. Coordinator of the Helping Africa drive in the Czech Republic is Efektim. The list of donors is available at the website created for the support of the project www.pomahameafrice.cz.

The Helping Africa Drive supports the residents of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park in Mozambique

The objective of the Helping Africa event is to support the communities living in the area of the border national park, the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park, who live there in dismal conditions and thereby help their future development. The donations received in the first phase of the Helping Africa drive (concluded on May 25th, 2011) will be shipped at the start of June 2011 directly to Mozambique, Africa where the representatives of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park will pass them out into the hands of the responsible representatives of the local authorities and educational or healthcare facilities.

The Helping Africa Drive starts with material donations and continues with development projects in Mozambique

The Helping Africa drive does not include just material donations as it also helps the community at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park in practical ways. The projects, which the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park in Mozambique organizes, are not developed by European donors only. They also involve the active participation of the residents of Mozambique. The Helping Africa projects can be supported in a number of ways: material donations until September 25th, 2011 (clothing, toys, school supplies, etc.), medical supplies (medical kits, etc.), involvement in specific development programs (e.g. construction of school, reservoirs for drinking water), financial aid in specific projects (the currently prepared project for the development of a veterinary clinic, development of basic infrastructure, water treatment plants and a number of others).

Current information on completed or ongoing programs as well as projects in the making for which the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is seeking out partners can be found at the www.pomahameafrice.cz.

About Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park spans across Mozambique and is one of the largest private African parks. It neighbors and fluently ties into the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. The primary objective for the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is to protect the natural wealth preserved in the area that is practically untouched by humans.

Another integral activity of this park is a sensitive, sustainable and long term development of local communities. Park activities focus on the construction of schools, hospitals, healthcare facilities, water reservoirs or the development of local infrastructure. All these steps are taken with utmost consideration for the environment while respecting the pristine state and beauty of this area. There is an opportunity to actively help this region even in the Czech Republic through the Helping Africa charity drive. More information is available at www.pomahameafrice.cz.
