SafeBox Shortlisted for the Mobile Messaging Awards
The Mobile Messaging Awards celebrate the very best in messaging innovation and development. Each year, it attracts major industry players as well as new companies to compete for the awards with a whole range of mobile messaging products from SMS and MMS, to IM, email, and voice messaging.
The awards are organized annually by 160 Characters, a UK-based not-for-profit membership forum for mobile messaging professionals. In honour of their 10th anniversary, the winners will be announced at a glamorous champagne reception on the 22nd June as part of the Global Messaging Congress.
Philippe Joly, CEO, SafeBox, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for the Mobile Messaging Awards and to be among such quality finalists. The success of our Private SMS product that has attracted over 800,000 users in just a year, highlights a demand for improving privacy in daily SMS communications in consumer markets, globally.”
The SafeBox Private SMS mobile application allows users to easily send and receive private SMS. The entire content of the SafeBox is stored in a PIN-protected space of the phone, and is inaccessible without knowledge of the PIN.

SafeBox is the fruit of an active collaboration between technology entrepreneurs and experts in mobile security that share the same vision about the right to privacy in the mobile space.
The company was setup in 2009 by two French entrepreneurs.
It is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland with additional resources spread across France, Italy and Malaysia. It has recently reinforced its presence in Asia with a new office in Hong Kong.
SafeBox Ltd. is a member of the iia.
