Exciting New Pop-Up Restaurant Opens its Doors at the iHub

An exciting new Asian and British themed pop-up restaurant has opened its doors at the iHub innovation centre on Infinity Park in Derby.

Tiffin Break is an exciting new concept launched by keen home cook Nayer Raj from Littleover.

The word Tiffin means ‘lunch box’ in Punjabi and Nayer has developed an extensive menu which combines the best of ‘Eastern and Western’ cuisine to create healthy, nourishing meals. All dishes are created using the best quality, fresh local ingredients.

Dishes range from chicken curry lentil dhal made with cream and served with rice and pitta bread, to piri piri wraps with fries and jacket potatoes with chilli. Nayer also has a daily vegan dish on the menu.

Tiffin Break also serves a breakfast menu, with egg muffins and breakfast burritos, which are already proving firm favourites.

The pop-up restaurant is currently open two days a week and whenever the iHub hosts seminars or external events.

Nayer has exciting plans for the future as she is also planning to launch a home catering service for weddings and special events.

Commenting on the launch of Tiffin Break at the iHub, Nayer said:

“I’m really excited to be able to showcase my unique blend of cuisine to tenants and visitors to the iHub.

“I’ve wanted to run my own restaurant since I was 11 years old and have been a keen home cook for as long as I can remember.

“Everyone I’ve met so far at the iHub has been hugely supportive and keen to help me. I’m introducing some people to dishes and herbs and spices they’re not familiar with, which is really rewarding. I’ve already got quite a few regular customers, which gives me lots of confidence for the future.

“I’d like to thank Ann Bhatti, Ros Stacey and the rest of the team at Connect Derby for helping to make my dream become a reality.”

Ann Bhatti added:

“It’s wonderful to have such a talented cook at Nayer serving food to us at the iHub. She creates some wonderful Asian cuisine and fusion dishes.

“With the support of tenants and visitors to the iHub, I’m sure she’s going to be a massive success.”

Launched in Autumn 2016, the iHub is the centre piece of Infinity Park, the new 100-acre manufacturing focused commercial and technology site situated to the south of the city.

The iHub provides high quality, flexible workspace for start-ups, early stage businesses and high growth SME’s looking to expand their role within the transport engineering and hi-tech sectors.

As well as offering traditional office workspaces, the iHub provides 14 ground floor workshops for businesses seeking a more hybrid working environment.

The iHub builds on the success of the hugely popular Connect Derby scheme, which has created a strong market for mixed use and sector specific serviced offices across the city at its six other buildings – Friar Gate Studios, Marble Hall, Riverside Chambers, Sadler Bridge Studios, Kings Chambers and Shot Tower.
