Beating The Bookies - Tipsters Provide Grand National Winner Trends, Stats & Free Tips

04-06-2007 06:17 PM CET | Sports

Press release from: Jumpingjockey.com

In keeping with Jumpingjockey.com's policy of providing free advice for big events, fans of the most popular horse race in the UK, the Grand National at Aintree, will receive free tips and advice once again from the jumpingjockey.com team (http://www.jumpingjockey.com).

Tim Mehmet, director of JumpingJockey.com, comments: "We always advise our subscribers that the big events should be enjoyed rather than treated as a money making opportunity which is why we provide the tips freely, the big events are very competitive and the racing is always fierce which makes them very exciting but difficult to predict."

To help punters pick a winner, the JumpingJockey.com team would like to point out some interesting trends for the Grand National. In the last fifteen races the following stats have been observed;

*20% of the winners were favourite, thats only 3 from 15.
*86.6% of the winners were 9 years old or older with 100% being between the age of 9-12. (the majority being 9 and 10 years old).
*80% of the winners finished their last race in the top 5.
*80% of the winners had odds in double figures.
*90% of the winners were carrying less than 11 stone, only Hedgehunter has managed to carry more at 11-1.

And of course, the Irish factor, although only a third of the winners were Irish, that third has come in the last eight meetings at Aintree indicating that this meeting will likely be dominated once again by the Irish raiders;

*5 of the last 8 races were won by Irish runners or Irish trained horses.

According to the JumpingJockey.com team, it should be possible to pick a relatively good price horse (or horses) that have 'in theory' around an 80% chance of finishing in the money. Once the declarations are made at the final stage, its simply a case of filtering out the runners based on the above.

If the red hot team at jumpingJockey.com are right, this will reduce the number of options to several horses when trying to pick a winner, its at this point the arguments start and the form book is thrown out of the window such is the passion the Grand National evokes in everyone up and down the country and around the world. The emphasis is to have fun and hope that all the horses and jockeys get home in one piece.

JumpingJockey.com's tips for the Grand National and the rest of the Aintree race card will be published on the day of the race at http://www.jumpingjockey.com/freetips.php, it will be free of charge for all.

Jumping Jockey launched in January 2006. Its main activity is to provide a tipping service for UK horse racing which include lay, back, market waket watch, favourite backers and value bets.
