200 Cr. Auli Weddings & The Cleansing Drive

The wedding celebrations at Auli, scheduled from 17th June 2019 till 23rd June 2019, concluded with visit to Triyugi Narayan Temple. While Clifftop Club was the base for celebrations, some events were planned at Triyugi Narayan Temple & Badrinath Temple in order to increase the footprint and cover important places of religious and tourist interest.

Keeping in mind the difficult geographical conditions, only 150 guests were part of the celebrations who were accommodated in 38 rooms(Clifftop Club, GMVN & Nanda Devi Resort) & 30 tents which were pitched in front of Clifftop Club. All the guest were ferried from Dehradun by 8 helicopters.

The planning of the celebrations started with series of meetings with various state machineries, district administration and nagarpalika who granted all the necessary permissions required to successfully execute wedding celebrations. Cleanliness of the area was of the utmost importance for which nagapalika extended their support and detailed planning was done with organizers to ensure that cleanliness and sanitation was maintained during the celebrations. nagarpalika, Joshimath District, created a team consisting of 3 environment friends and a supervisor alongwith staff and infrastructure required for segregation and disposal of waste being generated during the celebrations who as per schedule ensured cleanliness of highest standard is being maintained. On the other hand, organisers also ensured any use of plastic is being avoided and all the instructions from district administration and nagapalika is being strictly adhered with by everyone. A dedicated housekeeping team consisting of 40 skilled people was deployed organizers to ensuring proper cleanliness and garbage management in terms of segregation and timely disbursal of waste. There were personnel’s deployed to monitor that all the instructions are being followed by the team and that nobody mis-manages the waste.

The guests in attendance included Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Baba Ramdev, Sachidanand Ji Maharaj and various state dignitaries and celebrities from bollwood including Katrina Kaif, Siddhart Malhotra, Badshah who ensured that the guests were entertained with their performances during wedding celebrations.

Locals have expressed their happiness towards the festivities and they were elated with the promotions and recognition that Auli has witnessed during the wedding celebrations which will give them chance to grow with the increase in footfall. Taking a step forward, best of regional folk music and handicraft including HAARC Kaleshwar, HANS Foundation, Himadri Emporium, DIC Chamoli Himadri among others were showcased during the celebrations.

It is quite evident that the wedding celebrations in Auli has certainly lifted the spirit of the locals who see this event as a stepping stone which will give the region huge boost in terms of footprint and a chance to grow and develop.

The combined effort of various state machineries and especially of nagarpalika along with the orgainsers have ensured that no harm is being done to the nature and that the pristine region of Garwhal Himalayas retains its beauty which will help in achieving the ultimate goal of increasing footfall in the region and establishing it as a wedding tourism destination.
