VajraTV launches the first 24/7 online Buddhist broadcast platform
Using its proprietary IPTV platform, VajraTV is now available on several internet connected devices including TV (via ROKU), Mobile devices and Computer at anytime and from anywhere.
VajraTV was founded by Thupten N Chakrishar with blessings and support from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Gyalwang Karmapa, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Sogyal Rinpoche and many other eminent Masters. Thupten says, “Simply put; VajraTV is an amazing collaboration between thousand years old wisdom from the East and the latest possible technology in the West.”
Through its Web portal (www.vajratv.com), VajraTV has so far broadcast over 4000 hours of teachings to viewers in over 83 countries and territories. Teachings have included from Basic Buddhism to how to deal with anxiety in the Nuclear Age. VajraTV works together with content providers from around the world and self produces video programs to bring its viewers diverse and quality contents.
"We are force-fed with so much information everyday via TV, internet, newspaper, radio and so forth but honestly, how much these information contributes to our inner development is questionable. Everyday there is a bad news and unless we revive our basic human values, we are in deep trouble", said Thupten N Chakrishar, he added, "Buddhism is not a religion in the traditional sense. I believe the teachings of Buddha on compassion, moral values and ethics are more relevant today than it ever was and VajraTV acts as the uninterrupted connection to these teachings."
