An International AIDS 2012 Conference Based on Excellence
Toulon, France, May 30, 2011 -- The ISHEID AIDS 2012 conference announced that the focus will be on topics such as understanding the survival and maintenance mechanisms of HIV, attempting to develop a permanent cure. The worldwide socio-economic and human rights aspects, which can influence the fight against HIV. The discussions will include the usual talks about precautions necessary to prevent transmission of HIV and providing better access to health care facilities as well as the most recent scientific findings and ideas in order to understand the overall progress of the mission.In spite of the increasing number of AIDS awareness programs, the number of people contracting the infection has been on a constant rise. With over 2.6 million new infections being reported every year, it has been evident that public awareness programs conducted by private institutions as well as governments have not been successful due to the reforms required at scientific, societal and human levels. At such times, effective programs which can reach people from diverse geographical, socio-economic backgrounds have been the need of the hour. With the AIDS 2012 conference announced to be held in Marseille, France, expectations are certainly high.
ISHEID (International Symposium HIV and Emerging Infectious Diseases) first began in the early 1990s as a regional meet regarding HIV and AIDS in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur of France. Since then, it has grown into a platform with the objective of promoting scientific excellence and strengthening the worldwide resolve to eradicate HIV/ AIDS. Now that the AIDS 2012 conference announced, time has come to think of new methods to fight the disease in the disparaging economic conditions we live in.

The worldwide socio-economic and human rights aspects, which can influence the fight against HIV. The discussions will include the usual talks about precautions necessary to prevent transmission of HIV and providing better access to health care facilities as well as the most recent scientific findings and ideas in order to understand the overall progress of the mission. Apart from HIV, other prevalent infectious diseases such as viral hepatitis and avian influenza will be discussed extensively in the sessions.
The strength of any such symposium lies in its ability to bring about revolutionary changes in the most basic levels. Dr. Jose Gatell, a steering member of the ISHEID AIDS 2012 conference announced, the ideas and experiences shared in previous ISHEID conferences have been pivotal in reducing the quantity of medication required and the resultant side effects such as lipodystrophy.
Since its initiation till date, the conference has been chaired by some of the most reputed people such as Professors Antony Fauci, Roger Pomerantz, Guiseppe Pantaleo, David Ho, Julio Montaner etc. who have made significant contributions towards fighting AIDS. The ease of communication, openness to ideas and originality have earned international acclaim for the conference drawing a large number of enthusiasts from different corners of the world.
