Tashkent Islamic Univ., Information Agency “Jahon” Put Out Book on Tashkent’s Title

Uzbekistan is rightly considered as one of the cradles of the world civilization, and particularly, culture of the Islamic religion. The world community recognizes the invaluable contribution made by the great Uzbek ancestors to the development of world science and culture.
Under the leadership of President Islam Karimov a profound work is now held to revive and further develop the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek ancestors. Reconstruction and improvement of the holy places of worship of the great scholars and saints, enormous research of their rich scientific and cultural heritage now render the expected results.
The fact that Tashkent has been announced by the ISESCO as a world capital of Islamic culture in 2007 has served as another recognition of such enormous work.
The book “Tashkent is a Capital of Islamic Culture” has the answers by President Islam Karimov to the correspondent of the “Turkiston-press” non-state news agency vis-а-vis the announcement of Tashkent as a world capital of Islamic culture in 2007 from the entire Asian continent among other three cities in the world.
Besides, the book offers the felicitations from the heads of foreign states and international organizations, renowned political and social figures addressed to the President Islam Karimov on such fine occasion.
The book also presents the views and comments by the representatives of diplomatic corps, foreign specialists and experts. Articles and stories by the leading news agencies, newspapers and magazines, websites of various states on the said occasion have also been included in the edition.
