Press release from: PublishAmerica

Frederick, MD March 26, 2007-- PublishAmerica is proud to present Valor Wore a Green Sash by Don Johnson, of Hudson, WI. Amidst a war-torn nation, a city mobilizes for conflict. Henry Drane and Jonas Kauffman, two young doctors, form a friendship from medical school days that binds them together throughout the turbulent period of the Civil War. One meets the horrors of war in field hospitals at the scene of raging battles, while the other tends war’s carnage amidst the rapid development of the largest mobilization of military hospitals in America’s history. Each contributes to the revolution of procedures and standards taking place in the medical profession to lessen the disease of camp life and mend the carnage of war. Their story is an unforgettable drama rich in adventure, love, sacrifice, courage, devotion, and tragedy. It is an American saga that furthers the history of epic events as the story sweeps from the metropolis of Philadelphia to the embattled landscape of Gettysburg, disclosing a part of history that has never been told. Valor Wore A Green Sash is as breathtaking as it is factual.

Don Johnson retired as a mission manager with the NASA Space Program after a twenty-five-year career. He has spent the past thirteen years as a Park Ranger/Historian at several Civil War Battlefields. While his writing accomplishments include published professional papers and several award-winning literary history articles appearing in newspapers and magazines, Valor Wore a Green Sash is his first historical novel. His contact email address is: dj_traveller@yahoo.com
