Design agency grows and defies recession

A Crewe-based design agency has defied the current economic downturn and increased its turnover by fifty percent in the last twelve months. trCreative, which specialises in branding, web and graphic design, has moved to larger premises at The Quadrangle, Crewe Hall to accommodate its plans for growth. The company aims to recruit two new staff in the next six months to deal with the increase in workload.

Creative Director Lynsey Edwards says “Our aim is to encourage young passionate designers, as we know how hard it was to get an insight into our industry when we were younger.” The agency has taken on a work placement from a local school as part of its commitment to help young designers.

trCreative enters its third year in business with a number of accolades and accreditations. New Media Director Mike Lawson was recently shortlisted for Young Businessman of the Year by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce. Co-director Lynsey has become an approved member of the Chartered Society of Designers. And the company has been featured in the industry’s “Creative Review” on-line magazine for recent design work, as well as being awarded the RAR “Recommended Agency Register” kite-mark.

The team have celebrated their achievements by re-branding the company. Plans for the future include an increase in public sector work to coincide with their “supplier status” for Cheshire West and Chester Council, as well as continuing to work with a range of private companies.
