A Comedic Look at the Financial Crisis in With Love to Obama at the Marché du Film
Mumbai, India - With Love to Obama, produced by Revel Films Pvt. Ltd and directed by Subhash Kappor, is a satirical comedy set in the USA and India that uses the global financial meltdown as a backdrop. The film screens this week during the Marché du Film, which takes place in tandem with the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France.In the film, the main charter, Om, an Indian-American watches his wealth suddenly vanish over night. His personal financial crisis swiftly grows until suddenly he faces foreclosure on his home. Now in dire straights, Om travels to India to sell property owned by his family. But within days of arriving, he's kidnapped by a bunch of down on their luck mobsters--who believe Om is still rich and who pin their hopes on the U.S. president.
With Love to Obama premiered in North America during the South Asian International Film Festival--produced by HBO, and won the audience award.
