Oxford instruments introduces the new smarter UVTouch OES probe
Oxford Instruments introduces the new UVTouch OES probe, an essential tool for PMI (Positive Material Identification) work at high level. No more working with heavy items on ladders or scaffolds. Just take the light weight 2 kg UVTouch probe and leave the spectrometer on the floor level! The PMI-MASTER PRO with the UVTouch probe is the only analyser with an optional 10 m flexible connection cable. Fast analysis, quick identification of results and sorting of material is now possible even on remote, difficult and hard to reach areas. The probe’s robust technology allows continuous use in any location, even in extreme conditions. The compact nose design allows easy access to sample surfaces. Adapters are also available for those irregular surfaces.
UVTouch has Argon purged optics in the probe. Using UVTouch uncompromised accuracy and stability of analysis in varying environments is guaranteed. This even includes the identification of low concentrations of C, P, S, Sn, As and B in steel.
All data is available on the probe, with no compromise in analytical precision or which elements need to be determined.Control of the main PMI-MASTER PRO unit is also possible by using the probe’s advanced user interface. An embedded PC at the UVTouch probe runs the most user-friendly user interface with large icons and virtual keyboard. It displays element concentrations and grades.
The user can access the main functions of the spectrometer, change analytical programme, sample ID and grade library. It also has store / print commands and many more valuable features. The touch screen display has optimal contrast properties to accommodate any lighting conditions inside and outside.
UVTouch gives reliable, repeatable, flexible analysis for all requirements of the metals inspections industry.
As well as advanced technology systems for space, Oxford Instruments Industrial Analysis offers a range of Analytical Instruments designed for demanding quality control applications. From materials analysis to thickness gauging, the Industrial Analysis products incorporate the latest in available technology, coupled with over 50 years of experience in designing, producing and supporting world class instruments.
