Distron Corporation Breaks Ground on Major Factory Expansion

Attleboro Falls, MA, April 4, 2011, 2011- Distron Corporation an Electronics Contract Manufacturing company has begun construction of a 13,000-square-foot addition to its corporate headquarters in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts. The project will increase the company’s floor space and overall production capacity by more than 50%. Completion of the project is scheduled for July of 2011.

The expanded facility will include a new Surface Mount Technology production cell for circuit board assembly as well as office space for engineering and production support personnel. In addition, the facility will house enlarged systems assembly and order fulfillment work centers. Distron has also purchased over $1 million in new robotic placement and inspection equipment to enhance its assembly capability, quality and efficiency.

Utilizing the added space, Distron will hire approximately 40 employees over the next 18 months. The positions will include direct labor, management and engineering personnel.

The President of Distron, Robert Donovan said the following, “The project is being driven by the growth of our existing OEM customers and the expansion of the LED Lighting, Cleantech and Medical industries in Massachusetts.
