First Colo Opens New Data Center

Frankfurt/Main, Germany – March 14, 2011 – The new high-performance data center of the First Colo GmbH was successfully taken into operation after over one year of hard work. Just as planned, it went online on February 1, 2011. No noteworthy complications occurred during the 2.5 million Euro project's construction stage, the relocation of the server systems in the end of February also went smoothly.
The First Colo team can be more than satisfied with the final result: The consequent focus on modern technology and energy efficiency paid off. The usage of exceptionally economical components lead to a clearly noticeable increase of the performance and, at the same time, lowered the energy consumption by 60 % in comparison with conventional data centers. First Colo only uses CO2 neutral energy to power the data center – this way, the environment also benefits from the technological progress.
The new facilities are located in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, just like the former ones. They are in the close proximity of the DE-CIX, the biggest internet exchange point of the world. First Colo has taken up residence in the Accent Office-Center, an office building in the Hanauer Landstraße that was opened in 2004.
The additional server capacities cause a lot of activity in the sales department: Attractive special conditions for new customers were established. In addition, no set-up fees apply if the contract is signed before April 15.

The Munich-based First Colo GmbH operates a data center in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Its core business is the rental of data center space and servers. First Colo's customers receive access to its very modern technical infrastructure; there is also a huge variety of complementing services. The company is active on the market since over seven years.
