ISC Medical Comment on Proposed Restructuring of Healthcare System

03-11-2011 09:37 AM CET | Health & Medicine

Press release from: Interview Skills Consulting Ltd

London, United Kingdom (04 March 2011) - One of the country's leading providers of medical interviews and interview skills consultancy services, ISC Medical, have offered their opinion on how the changes to UK legislation will radically alter the way in which the healthcare system is structured.

Following the issue of a White Paper detailing these changes in July 2010, it would appear that the revamp of the NHS will ultimately provide clinicians with the authority and ability to use their own judgement in a more bottom-up approach to organising the healthcare system. The idea is that the knowledge of frontline staff can be used to strengthen the NHS, as these are the people best qualified to make informed financial decisions in terms of budget management.

When outlining this proposal, the new government insisted that empowering clinicians in such a way will give doctors and patients greater choice and control over how integral decisions are made. The new approach is designed to lead to a continuous improvement of the healthcare system, as there will be an increased focus on clinical outcomes ahead of satisfying bureaucratic processes.

"Now that this oft-discussed empowerment of clinicians has been finalised, it is reasonable to assume that the process may seem as daunting as it does beneficial to some doctors, but they need not worry," commented ISC Medical Managing Director, Olivier Picard. "ISC Medical offers a host of training, management and teaching courses, including a comprehensive one-day NHS management course, designed specifically to assist doctors when these new changes begin to take effect. With greater emphasis placed on efficiency, it will soon become essential for doctors to consider taking part in such courses as an investment in the long-term future of their hospitals and practices."
