ISC Medical Comment on Increased Competition for NHS Trainees
London, United Kingdom (31st August 2011) – One of the country’s leading providers of medical interviews and interview skills consultancy services, ISC Medical, comment on how the competition to enter NHS Speciality Training has forced trainees to develop stronger CVs.As doctors are preparing for another round of recruitment towards entry into specialist training, many will reflect on whether their CV is competitive enough to make it through this tough selection process.
With competition ratios approaching 40:1 and even 100:1 in some specialities, it is becoming increasingly necessary for young doctors to gain extra points in their application by attending extra-curricular courses such as medical Teach the Teachers courses and medical management and leadership courses.
“Life has become tough for young doctors”, Olivier Picard, MD of ISC Medical says. “Not only are they being pushed to enhance their CVs in all directions, they have to do so in an environment where their training budgets have been cut, in some cases by up to 60%.
