FRP Advisory appointed administrators to M & K Cotton Limited hotels
Chris Stevens and Ian Vickers, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, the specialist restructuring, recovery and insolvency firm, were appointed Joint Administrators on 24 February 2011 to M & K Cotton Limited, operating company of both Sandpipers Hotel in the Isle of Wight and The Harboro Hotel in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Both hotels are continuing to trade, welcoming guests and patrons as usual.The company was placed into administration following financial difficulties that resulted in it being unable to continue trading without the protection of an insolvency process.
The Joint Administrators are continuing to operate both hotels as normal, with the assistance of appointed managing agents. They are also conducting an extensive marketing campaign for the sale of the business.
Commenting on the case, Chris said: "Trading is ongoing at both hotels and they are continuing to welcome guests as usual, with no plans to close. Meanwhile, we are hopeful of finding a purchaser in the near future, to protect the business and its employees."
