Strategic Alliance formed between UK and German speaking physician communities
02 March 2011, Oxford/Konstanz: A Strategic Alliance ("Alliance") has been signed between Doctors.net.uk Limited (www.Doctors.net.uk) - the UK's largest online network of medical professionals, and coliquio (www.coliquio.de) - one of the largest professional online communities for physicians in the principal German speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
The Alliance, which follows agreements with similar communities in France, Spain, Portugal and Sweden, will provide physicians with the opportunity for increased collaboration with their peers across Europe and improved access to enhanced professional content and online learning.
The pharmaceutical industry, health organisations and other companies interested in getting feedback from physicians regarding issues, products and services, or wanting to supply them with important information, will now have access to an extensive, and ever-expanding, international community.
coliquio was founded in 2007 to enhance the exchange of experience and medical knowledge among German speaking doctors and give them an opportunity to solve medical problems collaboratively. The community already counts more than 41,000 members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Doctors.net.uk has a membership comprising more than 180,000 registered UK doctors and each week over 50,000 use the service, making it the online professional resource most frequently used by them.
