3M expands interior décor film portfolio and improves lead times on European stock

Bracknell, UK, 25 February 2011 - Diversified technology company 3M has announced the expansion of its comprehensive interiors product portfolio with the addition of a new translucent polyester film that enables designers and architects to create functional yet aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. Fasara Decorative Window Films from 3M, intended for both privacy and decorative purposes, can be applied to glass partitions, windows and doors in retail, hospitality, restaurant and office building environments.

New 3M Fasara Decorative Window Films are tough, dimensionally stable films designed, first and foremost, to provide personal privacy by obscuring the view through the inside surface or exterior window, as well as interior glass partitions. Secondary benefits include design and décor for glass partitions, windows and doors, fully or partially filmed panes, border decoration and internally illuminated displays. Representing a fraction of the cost of etched or sandblasted glass, the films are ideal for refresh or refurb projects in a range of segments.

Utilising a pressure sensitive adhesive, the film allows for wet or dry application without the need for heat and/or chemicals. It is easily applied on-site with little or no business downtime and it can be easily removed and reapplied as brands or designs change over time. The low gloss surface of the film reduces glare and its ability to block up to 99 per cent of UV light reduces fade on fabrics. The film’s rigid and tough construction makes it more durable and increases personal safety from flying glass in case of a breakage.

3M Fasara Decorative Window Films come in acid etched, sandblasted and rice paper effects, and pattern options include combination, dot, line, prism, gradation and single patterns. Six patterns are available with a five day lead time through local stock in Jüechen, Germany, and a further 40 through Japan. The films are warranted for five years.

Local stock of DI-NOC Architectural Finishes from 3M is also now available enabling architects and designers to select from 140 patterns across the range – available in 12m rolls (one roll Minimum Order Quantity) with a five day lead time.

3M DI-NOC Architectural Finishes offer a unique means of communication and expression within interior and exterior design. Patterns including wood, metal, marble, leather, stone, stucco and other textures can be faithfully reproduced on all kinds of application surfaces such as aluminium, steel, varnished metal bases, plastic, laminates, walls, plasterboard and plaster.

These high quality, self-adhesive films feature Comply Adhesive from 3M for easy, fast, bubble-free application. The films offer unlimited creative flexibility and architectural freedom at reduced cost, compared to authentic materials used in construction, refurbishment, maintenance and repair. Covered by a 12 year warranty for indoor applications and up to five years for outdoors, the films are amongst the technologically most advanced and prestigious products offered by 3M.

A further 350 patterns are available from Japan with a lead time of 25 days. The majority of the range is adaptable to curved and irregular surfaces, as well as flat surfaces.
