Urban Shoppers Talking Back
The Urban Shopper, a Shopping Lifestyle and Values web magazine targeted to Black and Latino females, has added new site features that now allow readers to email, print, and comment on articles.This is the latest improvement for the 10-month old web magazine which publishes editorial developed exclusively for the urban shopping experience.
Last month, The Urban Shopper announced an agreement to publish findings from the Black Women’s Health Study, the only long-term research study devoted exclusively to the health of African American women conducted by Boston University. The first article from that collaboration, “Breast Cancer and Diet”, appears in the magazine’s latest issue.
The Urban Shopper publishes original consumerist content across six shopping behavior channels. Articles cover everything from groceries to mortgages. Until now, it has been a one-way conversation with The Urban Shopper's 20,000 subscribers.
According to publisher, Marla Currie, “We are so very pleased to enhance the experience of our subscribers by empowering them to thoughtfully retain, pass along and provide feedback on a personal experience or on a particular spending issue. These new tools will make our readers even more an engaged shopper community.”
The latest issue of The Urban Shopper reviews prices and features of 2011 American Made Cars in its cover story. Other articles of note include “iPhone Gets Verizoned” in its Technology section, Personal Finances’ “Tax Man Cometh” and “Valuing a Doll Collection” in Leisure Living. The magazine also has recipes, buying tools like printable coupons and access to local Groupon deals as well as consumer alert information.
The Urban Shopper publishes its tenth issue of consumerist content for African-American and Latinos focused on shopping smart, finding value, and creating greater awareness of the urban consumer marketplace.
Exclusively online, The Urban Shopper covers the full shopping spectrum including Food & Household, Leisure Living, Technology and Learning, Green Living, Personal Finance, and Wellness & Beauty.
