Microneedle flu vaccine resolves most of the challenges caused with conventional vaccines. It is of bandage-strip sized patch, which can be easily applied all over the skin. It consists of 100 solid water-soluble needles, which are capable to penetrate skin. Vaccine is encapsulated in the needles and is released as the needle tip dissolves within minutes, once the patch is applied over the skin surface. Skin produces local immune response against pathogens in the vaccine thereby, providing response similar to that of needle-based vaccine. The patch is peeled away and discarded like a used bandage strip.
