Press release from: Pharmacy OneSource

Sentri7 software now processes more than 4,000,000 client HL7 messages per day

Bellevue, WA –Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced that Pharmacy OneSource has doubled its daily client data processing capability, with its Sentri7 software recently surpassing 4 million HL7 messages processed in one day.

Sentri7 by Pharmacy OneSource combines medication, laboratory, patient, radiology and surgery data to facilitate earlier, better, and more consistent interventions. Accelerating workflows can lead to shorter lengths of stay, lower costs, improved patient safety and reduced antibiotic resistance… in short: speed saves lives.

"This is a major milestone for the company, both in a measure of client growth, and as a validation of the architectural design of our systems," said Kaj Pedersen, Chief Technology Officer for Pharmacy OneSource. “We expect this number to double again in the upcoming year as we add more functionality, new feeds and new clients to the Sentri7 system."

With the demand for user-friendly, real-time, clinical information at the point of care increasing, Pharmacy OneSource has dedicated investments to support this upcoming growth. The company is currently transitioning to new high-end application servers, leveraging GigaSpaces XAP elastic caching platform, to scale the performance of Sentri7 and double the capacity of existing data centers.

"The explosive growth we've recently seen in message volumes only reinforces our decision to build a cutting edge, affordably scalable processing system," Pedersen said. "What makes this even more exciting is that we’ve been able to gradually improve application performance throughout this increase in volumes."

Pharmacy OneSource and Wolters Kluwer Health are currently exhibiting at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Meeting in Orlando Feb. 20-24. Their respective booth numbers are #5043 and #6162. For more information on Sentri7, visit http://www.sentri7.com.
