United For A Sustainable America Hosts First Ever Chicago Green Business Summit

Tampa, FL/Chicago, IL - United For a Sustainable America (UFASA) will be hosting the first ever Chicago Green Business Summit Thursday, February 24th at Venue One (located 1044 W. Randolph Street). The Summit will bring together members of the Chicago business community proactively investing in the emerging green economy.

This one day event will host both an exhibition floor and a series of panel discussions and welcomes Tim Carey, Pepsi Co. Sustainability Director North America as the keynote speaker. Other notable speakers include County Commissioner Toni Preckwinkle and Michelle Jos Parker, Director of Sustainable Practices at the Shedd Aquarium. The event moderators include Sandra Henry, ComEd’s “Energy Doctor”, Doug Farr a Chicago Architect & Author and Gary, Indiana Mayor Rudy Clay. Governor Pat Quinn and Alderman Burnett are also scheduled to attend the event.

The Summit, which is free and open to the public, will focus on the importance of proactively investing in the emerging green economy and facilitate dialogue on how sustainability can grow the economy and create jobs. Panel topics include: the financing of leading green projects, new disruptive green technologies, and corporate sustainability management. “It is imperative that our communities begin to better understand and embrace green business practices,” says Brig. General David Snyder, UFASA board Chairman and managing director of Aerosage. “Ultimately, these strategies and tactics will yield more successful, sustaining organizations and economies.”

The Chicago Green Business Summit invites members of the business community seeking to integrate sustainability into their business – however large or small – and manage the accompanying opportunities and challenges.
