The Boston based American band Dispatch has revealed the dates of its 2011 reunions tour that was announced on the first day of this New Year. Dispatch will open their tour on June 3, 2011 at Red Socks, Morrison followed by a series of concert in cities including Chicago, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Harrison, Atlanta and Boston. This reunion tour of Dispatch is one of the most anticipated tours of 2011. Dispatch is known for making use of different styles and genres in their music that often puts the critics in confusion to decide on in which category this folk jam band falls.
Dispatch band was formed by three college friends when studying at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont and they after schooling they chose Boston as a place for starting their never ending music career. Band will perform a series of three concerts at home town Boston on June 24, 25 & 26. Through it’s their first concert at TD Garden in Boston in almost 7 years since they performed their last Boston concert at the Boston's Hatch Shell in 2004 and people of Boston are happy to hear that their favorite members have buried their differences and coming for the biggest Boston area concerts.
The Dispatch 2011reunions was first scheduled for six concerts in six cities but band’s overwhelmed demand made the organizers to add more dates and now they will perform 13 concerts in seven cities.
Dispatch band formed in early 1990s and since their split in 2002 has performed three reunion concerts, in 2004, 2007 and 2009. Dispatch features three members, Brad Corrigan, Pete Francis Heimbold and Chad Urmston and their high profile songs including "The General," "Flying Horses," "Bang Bang," and "Elias." Dispatch band uses Reggae and Funk beats, lots of bongos, and occasionally a classical guitar in the production of their music and all three members of the band lend their voices to their multi-layered songs. While on stage Brad Corrigan plays percussion, Pete Heimbold base and Chad Urmston guitar and collectively they have released 4 studio albums before their disappointing 2002 breakup.
New Year is year of massive comeback for Dispatch when most of their concerts have already been sold out. A portion of sales from their home concerts will go to the local public schools. This is a well known act by Dispatch and in the past also Dispatch has made donations for Zimbabwe.
