Feb 15h 2011: Estimated at a total cost of US$ 15.974 million dollars, the project will include the launch of HQ NUST with state-of-the-art postgraduate establishments like National Institute of Transportation (NIT), Center for Chemical Engineering & Materials Science (CCE&MS), Institute of Environmental Science & Engineering (IESE) and Institute of Manufacturing Engineering (IME).
IDB will be responsible for providing financial support for purchasing of lab equipment of the institutes mentioned above.

The NUST will be required to upgrade itself into a center of distinction & excellence by improving its present facilities through the addition of latest programmes in developing technologies along with the nation's requirements. By doing this, the nation will be profited in two ways; firstly through the production of a sensible number of highly qualified technical professionals, graduates & postgraduates in a variety of subjects as per the nation's requirement. Secondly, these centers of distinction will contribute extensively in the sphere of development & research; as well as by giving support to government and local industrial organizations. The project's last date of submission for its bids is 23st Sept' 2011.
