International Civil Aviation Organization Sanctions Seventy-Six Million For Mumbai City Project.
Navi Mumbai 2nd International Airport Project for Mumbai city
The Indian Government on the other hand is in the course of setting up a second national flying training academy in Gondia, Maharashtra. The Union Aviation Ministry is positive that the Navi Mumbai airport will be fully functional by 2011 – 2012. The government is assuming that this will lessen the congestion at the first international airport in the city.
The Minister has specified that the project will have an investment of Rs 3500 million. The statement was issued by the minister on the sidelines of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between the Maharashtra Government and the US –based aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Boeing will be putting up a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility of $110 million at Nagpur. Final dates for submitting the bids is on 20th Aug’ 2012.
