Dubai Shopping Festival 2011 – A top class shopping and entertainment possibility

The annual Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), known in Arabic as “Layali Dubai”, started this year already on the 20th of January 2011 and it will end on the 20th of February 2011. The slogan is “One World One Family One Festival”.
The original reason for the implication of this festival 1996 by the government was to promote the trade in Dubai. Since that time it has developed into a big tourist attraction.
The number of tourists increased in 2009 to over 3.35 million people.

For children there exist Cartoon shows with characters like Tarzan, Spiderman, Casper or some Pokemons. In addition there are dolphin shows.
Sports lovers can also participate in sporting events including Open Tennis Championship, Hockey, Ice Hockey, Football and Rowing.
