Foreign Faculty Hiring Program of USD 54800000 Set To Hire 300 Members

19th Jan' 2011: Foreign Faculty Hiring Program will be hiring 300 foreign faculty members every year for the next coming five years. The program's main objective will be to seal the huge gap of Ph.D. Supervisors and well competent research academics in the higher education sector of Pakistan. The project's estimated cost will be at fifty-four million eight hundred thousand (54800000) US dollars.

This project is expected to build relations between foreign and local establishments as well as foster long standing scientific associations. Presence of foreign faculty members having an exhaustive knowledge and research experience are expected to hold a progressive and contemporary viewpoint while researching academic program in the universities of Pakistan. This would enable them to establish high standards of international level to be followed by their local peer group.

The long term goal of this project is to enrich the graduate programs in the universities of Pakistan and ensure that they are brought up as per International Standards. Provision of funds will be ensured by the HEC for any related research expenses as well as supporting graduate students. Members from the international faculty will be expected to administer world-class graduate level research and provide pioneering graduate level courses in their academic subjects. Last date of submission for the bids is 30th Nov' 2011.
