New Tektronix Logic Analyzer Named to Hot 100 List

Tektronix TLA6000 Series Chosen as a “Hot 100” Electronics Product of
2010 by EDN Magazine

Bangalore, January 18, 2011 – Tektronix, Inc., a leading, worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that the TLA6000 Series Logic Analyzer has been named one of the Hot 100 Products of 2010 by EDN magazine. The recognition honours the best products of the year for electronic design engineers that have advanced the state-of-the-art in electronics.

Selected by the editors of EDN, the Hot 100 products list recognizes new products that heated up the electronics world and were said to grab the attention of EDN's editors and readers. Introduced in September 2010, the TLA6000 Series stood out from the pack for its combination of high performance and affordability, bringing high-end debugging and analysis capabilities to mainstream embedded-system designers.

“With faster signals and increased board densities, embedded engineers face many signal integrity issues that can be nearly impossible to track down without high-end debugging capabilities,” said Dave Farrell, director, Logic Analyzer Product Line, Tektronix. “As the inclusion in this year Hot 100 List illustrates, the TLA6000 Series meets a very real market need for advanced logic analysis at even more affordable price points.”

The TLA6000 Series is offered in 68, 102, and 136 digital channel configurations with 125 ps high speed timing on all channels, up to 450 MHz state timing and up to 128 Mb record lengths. This level of performance represents a significant price-performance breakthrough.

To boost engineering productivity, the TLA6000 Series offers advanced features like iCaptureTM multiplexing that eliminates double probing with simultaneous digital and analog acquisition through a single logic analyzer probe. Glitch trigger and storage allows users to trigger on and display observed signal integrity faults, while the iViewTM display provides a useful time-correlated view of both logic analyzer and oscilloscope data on the same display. Simple and intuitive instrument setup saves time in busy lab environments with accelerated design cycles.

The TLA6000 Series is well suited for a broad range of debug and analysis applications including signal integrity analysis, FPGA debug and verification, MIPI protocol analysis, memory system validation, and embedded software integration and debug. The TLA6000 is part of a full portfolio of logic analyzers offered by Tektronix which also includes the portable TLA5000 Series, the modular TLA7000 Series and the TLA7SA00 Series Logic Protocol Analyzer modules for the TLA7000 Series.
