Teacher Online Professional Services, TOPS, Makes its Debut
Global Academy Online, the nation’s noted online university builders, announced today the launch of their new professional service specializing in placing experienced online educators with schools seeking online teachers. The global service is being offered through a brand new Academy division, Teacher Online Professional Services or TOPS.The TOPS division according to Academy Sr. Vice President LaFonda Oliver Bowen specializes in offering institutions experienced online K-12 and college level faculty on an as needed basis. Schools requiring online teachers need only contact TOPS for temporary or long-term assistance in teaching their online courses. Institutions according to Ms. Oliver-Bowen can either retain TOPS professionals on a part time or full time basis. Currently the agency is offering professional teaching services in over forty collegiate fields and the entire spectrum of K-12 online education.
The idea of the online professional teacher agency came from the increasing demand for online classes at all levels of education and the fact that schools have difficulty in recruiting knowledgeable and experienced professional online educators. Global Academy Online, Inc. has been outsourcing faculty for over eight years to institutions on five continents while servicing their own clients and partner schools in developing and teaching online courses and complete programs.
“Our considerable experience”, states Dr. Fred DiUlus, CEO and founder of Global Academy Online, “makes us experts in what faculty and regular school teachers must know to be effective online educators.” He goes on to point out that not every classroom professor or school teacher is cut out to teach online. Universities and school systems, he says, learn this painful lesson daily when they try to force and convert classroom teachers to online education providers against their will.
TOPS is the first employment agency of its type and the first to offer online schools worldwide temporary experts and seasoned online doctoral educators and specialized teachers from K-12 to undergraduate and graduate levels. Oliver-Bowen emphasizes that all instructors they represent are or have been full time educators in a traditional setting for at least three years with at least one year under their belt as an online instructor. “All instructors available for outsource through TOPS”, she says, “will have met our stringent requirements for representation including being able to use the most advanced online protocols available today.”
All teachers represented by TOPS are specialists in working with the major course management systems like MOODLE, Blackboard and others. They are required to possess relevant accredited credentials and teaching experience in their degree fields.
