Lower Electric Bill Today Recruiting Energy Brokers in Philadelphia Area

Press release from: Lower Electric Bill Today

Lower Electric Bill Today, an online provider of electricity news, statistics, and services, disclosed today that Pennsylvania’s upcoming electric rate cap expiration has created opportunities in the Philadelphia area for business professionals to act as brokers in the PECO utility service territory. Brokers will have the unique opportunity to help Philadelphia residents save money on their monthly electric bills by assisting them in transferring their electric service to a low-cost, independent Pennsylvania electric supplier.

The state of Pennsylvania is one of a growing number of states with a deregulated electric industry, meaning that consumers may purchase electricity from independent electric suppliers offering reduced electric rates. Rates of such suppliers are often up to 20% lower than those offered by PECO.

Beginning January 1, 2011, the statewide electric rate cap will expire and PECO’s electric rates are expected to increase. Lower Electric Bill Today plans to alleviate the burden of increased electric bills by recruiting brokers to help PA residents transfer their service to a more affordable electric supplier.

“PECO is the largest electric and natural gas utility in Pennsylvania,” said Christina Cleri, president of Lower Electric Bill Today. “The state’s upcoming rate cap expiration will likely increase the electric bills of more than one million PECO customers throughout Pennsylvania. At Lower Electric Bill Today, we would like to help both consumers and business professionals take advantage of the unique opportunity that electricity deregulation and the expired rate caps provide.”

“Through a deregulated market, consumers can receive lower electric bills by transferring their service to more affordable Pennsylvania electric suppliers,” Cleri continued. “In turn, business professionals can take advantage of this increase in market competition and probable increase in electric rates by acting as brokers on behalf of our company, and for the benefit of themselves and the customers they serve.”

Candidates for the broker position should be highly motivated self-starters living in the Philadelphia area. Ideal candidates will have the ability to work independently with a high level of credibility and productivity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
