Iguazu Falls - Travel Tips from Insiders in Brazil and Argentina
The Iguaçu Falls have recently been elected one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and visiting the Falls in Brazil and Argentina is an unforgettable sight for even the most experienced travelers. ILS3 and Discover.Travel Group’s Team has personally visited Iguassu to recommend insider information to DiscoverBrazil clients.Salvador, Brazil, 30 November 2010 --- Iguazu Falls are a spectacular landscape of 275 massive waterfalls, located on the border between Argentina and Brazil. While Argentina owns 75% of the actual falls and Brazil 25%, each country’s National Park provides vastly different experiences and views of the Iguassu Falls. The visit of each side of the falls is a separate excursion, as there is no way to cross from one side to the other without leaving the national park, and each of these visits is a unique experience. ILS3 and the Discover.Travel Group has visited both the Brazilian and the Argentinean side to know in detail the highlights of each side’s experience, and recommends each traveler to include tours to both sides of the Iguazu Falls in their Brazil Vacation Package.
In the Argentinean Iguazu Falls National Park, a little train takes visitors on a tour through the forest to two distinct hikes. Along the brief train ride, on sunny days swarms of colorful butterflies accompany the visitors. The most spectacular view of the falls that travelers can enjoy from the Argentinean side is from the viewpoint on a suspended platform at the very brink of the ‘Garganta do Diabo’ waterfall (Devil’s Throat) – the largest fall in the park. The second hike in the Argentina National Park, the ‘Circuito Superior’ (Superior Circuit) allows travelers to walk above several of the smaller waterfalls, discovering the abundant nature filled with orchids, colorful birds, monkeys, ‘quatis’ and other wildlife, and enjoying new perspectives of the San Martin Island and Waterfall.
At the end of the superior circuit lies the Sheraton Sheraton Iguazú Resort & Spa Hotel with a privileged view of this beautiful landscape. ILS3 and Discover.Travel Group recommend this top hotel for offering guests friendly service in sophisticated atmosphere. Enjoying the late afternoon sun taking a drink on the veranda by the bar with the view of the Iguazu Falls is an experience of luxury on a trip through South America. A short drive from the national park, the Loi Suites Hotel offers excellent accommodation and facilities.
In the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil, ILS3 and the Discover.Travel Group team followed the easy trail that descends down the canyon, offering panoramic views of the more than 240 falls which lie on the opposite side of the Canyon, in Argentina. The highlight at the end of this trail is a wooden walkway which takes visitors right in front of the largest of the Iguaçu Falls, the Garganta do Diabo. Only meters away from the impressive curtain of water, feeling the wind and the spume, travelers get yet another unforgettable impression of the Iguassu Falls. Adventure Travel Package Options in Iguazu include the Macuco Boat Safari and the Gran Aventura Boat tour, both of which take passengers right under one of the waterfalls. On the Brazil side of Iguaçu, travelers can do rafting, rappel and tree-climbing with views of the falls. The Discover.Travel Group also recommends the facilities for Ecotourism in the National Park and a visit to the Iguaçu Bird Park. At the five star Hotel Das Cataratas by Orient Express Hotels, travelers stay at walking distance from the Iguaçu Falls.
Outside the Naional Park, technically interested travelers will find a visit to the hydroelectric power station Itaipu interesting, on the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The cities of Puerto Iguazu in Argentina and Foz do Iguaçu offer further entertainment and accommodation. ILS3 and the Discover.Travel Group personally visited a great variety of hotels. The Bourbon Cataratas Resort & Convention, the Mabu Thermas Hotel, the Hotel San Martin, the Recanto Park Hotel, the Rafain Palace Hotel, the Viale Hotel, the Continental Inn and the Falls Galli Hotel are the select hotels in Foz do Iguaçu which the DiscoverBrazil specialized Travel Consultants chose to recommend to their clients, depending on the category the travelers prefer on their Personalized Brazil Vacation Package.
