Latest update: Vietnam E-visa scheme has been extended till 2021
Initially, the pilot E-visa program has been scheduled to take effect for 2 years, starting from February 1, 2017 to same period of 2019. However, it is has been extended till 2021 to sustain the growth target for Vietnam tourism. In other words, citizens of eligible countries now can continue to submit their E-visa application for a 30-day with single entry. Expected processing time is 3 working days and processing fee is paid $25 online, non-refundable through the official website of Vietnam Immigration Department.
Besides applying for E-visa, citizens of 46 qualified countries still have another best option to process their visa that is Vietnam visa on arrival. This type of visa has the advantage of getting many different types of visa and simpler process.
Regarding types of visa, applicants can apply from tourist to business, from single entry to multiple entries and from 1 month to 3 months visa.
In term of visa application process, all required paper is just a passport copy. They can send the passport to email support@vietnamvisavoa.com or fill in this online form https://vietnamvisavoa.com/en/apply-online then make the payment online for the service fee.
One special thing in this process is that applicants won’t receive the visa but the visa approval letter. This is a legal documents permitting travelers to get their visa stamped on passport when they arrive Vietnam airport. It takes about 2 working days to issue the visa approval letter for normal service. And in case anyone would like to get the letter sooner they can apply for Rush Vietnam visa.
