Press release from: Global Tree Careers Pvt. Ltd.

One of Canada’s top politician’s Andrew Scheer assured Quebec will be given more autonomy over immigration decisions if his party - the federal Conservatives came into power after this year’s elections.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked Quebec to fall in line with Canada immigration to increase the number of immigrants who are admitted into the province of Quebec. Prime Minister Trudeau has expressed his government’s willingness to continue to work with the Quebec Premier to address immigration concerns and make sure that the province has access to enough number of skilled and unskilled workers to bridge the serious labor shortage it is currently facing.
Mr. Andrew Scheer was speaking at an event for Quebec voters in Montreal that came after a month-long consultation with various stake-holders on the subject. Mr. Scheer expressed his concern at the rising number of immigrants who do not learn French after arrival and also aims to reduce the influx of illegal immigrants.
The Quebec government manages nearly 70 percent of the immigration into the province as a part of the economic immigration program. The rest arrive in the province through programs that are conducted by the federal government as a part of the Canada immigration efforts.
The Federal minister for Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc has stated that, there were plans to discuss the Quebec government’s plans to streamline immigration to the province of Quebec and make it more suitable to address concerns of labor shortage. The aim of the discussion is to make sure that the province gets the right amount of immigration to help fill both skilled and semi-skilled labor gap.
Canada has been facing labor shortages in various provinces and has increased its commitment to bring in more immigrants into the country as a part of its immigration program. Many provinces have set their own targets to meet the requirement for additional skilled immigrants in order to bridge the labor gap.
Quebec on the contrary, is seeking to establish a balance between bringing in more skilled labor and stemming the influx of illegal immigrants who refuse to learn the locally spoken French and integrate themselves with the local culture. Prime Minster Trudeau has assured the people of Quebec that these concerns will be addressed in the coming months
