VAC Offers PAD Screening During Foot Health Issues Related to Diabetes Awareness Month

November is Foot Health Issues Related to Diabetes Awareness Month, during which Vascular Access Centers is offering complimentary screenings for diabetes patients at risk for Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

The team at Vascular Access Centers works year-round to provide superior patient care and improve patients’ quality of life. In line with this goal, VAC makes extra efforts to promote messages that are relative to patients during health awareness months.

According to Vascular Access Centers, PAD is a serious disease affecting about 8 million Americans. Those affected by PAD have an increased risk of amputation, heart attack and stroke. Diabetics have a higher risk of the disease, which is sometimes referred to as poor circulation based on its common symptoms.

• Foot or toe pain at rest that disturbs sleep.
• Skin sores or wounds on feet or toes that are slow to heal.
