The new TruPort ceiling-mounted supply units enable individual configuration by the hospital staff at any time.

The new TruPort ceiling-mounted supply units enable individual configuration by the hospital staff at any time.

Ditzingen, Germany; October 27, 2010 – The goal of TRUMPF Medical Systems is to improve processes in clinics and to make working conditions there more ergonomic. The company prefers to show rather than promise what it can do – as evidenced by numerous innovative solutions with the motto reliability, innovation, efficiency at the MEDICA 2010 trade show. TRUMPF Medical Systems seeks to draw visitors with its unique exhibit highlight of a OR world in 3D.

Completely virtual – real ORs in 3D
Once trendy only in movies, 3D is increasingly moving beyond theaters and into other aspects of life, such as TRUMPF's booth at MEDICA where visitors will be transported into a 3D world of their own OR. For the first time, it is possible to experience an OR still in the planning stage in "true 3D" and to modify and improve the interior design. Hospital representatives will have a chance to look at the design and functionality of their OR plans from various perspectives, check the accessibility and space requirements for new equipment to avoid collisions and make virtual modifications.

Complete flexibility – new ceiling-mounted supply units
A true high point of TRUMPF’s product innovations are the TruPort ceiling-mounted supply units. This world innovation, which will set new standards in the OR and ICU, will be introduced to a wider audience at MEDICA. TruPort can keep pace with changes in everyday work in clinics as well as with the individual demands of their users. TruPort ceiling-mounted supply units enable quick and convenient workstation design, even without tools in some cases. Hospital staff can make adjustments at any time according to safety, ergonomic and economic requirements, which makes TruPort well-suited for a broad range of uses and a secure long-term investment for hospitals.

Complete bandwidth – for every requirement
Whatever a hospital’s requirements for OR lights or tables are, TRUMPF has the right product to meet them. Within the TRUMPF OR table product family is the right solution for any requirement, such as the new OR TruSystem 5500 table system – the small brother of the high-end TruSystem 7500 OR table system.
Also new at MEDICA 2010 is the TruLight 1000 examination light, the new member of TRUMPF’s OR light family. Aside from surgical procedures, the LED technology is also ideal for examinations as it is is notable for higher light strength, longer service life and lower heat generation than halogen lights. Mobility and low weight are further compelling arguments for TruLight 1000.

Complete lighting – iLED with Adaptive Light Control Plus
At the end of November, TRUMPF will begin equipping its successful iLED OR lights with Adaptive Light Control Plus as a standard feature. This feature independently provides the perfect lighting in each phase of a surgical procedure. The surgeon simply has to adjust his or her ideal light intensity at the beginning of the operation. When the light is moved during the operation, the light intensity is automatically readjusted. Adaptive light control thus ensures the best possible lighting conditions without the surgeon or the assistant having to readjust the light settings.

With sales totaling US $ 1.86 billion (€ 1.34 billion) and about 8,000 employees, the TRUMPF Group ranks among the leading manufacturing companies worldwide. The three following business divisions are combined under the umbrella of a holding company: Machine Tools/Power Tools, Laser Tech¬nology/Electronics and Medical Technology. Its core business is machine tools for flexible sheet metal processing for punching and forming, laser processing and bending. In the field of industrial lasers and laser systems, the company is the technological leader in the world market. With about 60 sub¬sidiaries and branch offices, the Group is represented in almost every European country, in North and South America as well as in Asia. Production locations can be found in Germany, Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Switzerland and the USA.
