Gehrlicher Solar AG realizes three solar parks in the Czech Republic

In October 2010, Gehrlicher Solar AG completed the construction of three solar parks in the Czech Republic with an overall performance of 5.23 MWp. The installations are located in Mysliv near Klatovy, Zlonin near Prague and Hovorany near Brno.

Dornach near Munich, October 27, 2010. On October 7, Solar Park Mysliv, located in the south-western part of Bohemia, 20 kilometers east of the city of Klatovy, started producing solar electricity. This is the first solar power plant Gehrlicher Solar AG has built in the Czech Republic. The plant has a peak performance of 1.99 MWp and comprises an area of 3.8 hectares. It will be producing 1.79 million kilowatt hours of green electricity and covering the electricity requirements of 510 three-person households. 8.844 Yingli modules and two SMA inverters were used in the construction.

At the end of October, a further PV installation built by Gehrlicher Solar AG, with an overall performance of 2.25 MWp, will be connected to the grid in the Czech city of Zlonin. This solar park was built on an area of 3.3 hectares in central Bohemia, about 20 kilometers north of Prague. It will produce about 2.02 million kilowatt hours of green electricity and cover the electricity requirements of 580 three-person households. A total of 9.570 Yingli modules and two SMA inverters were used in the construction.

Gehrlicher Solar AG realized a third solar park in south Moravia, near the Austrian border. The installation in Hovorany, 40 kilometers south-east of the city of Brno, will be connected to the grid in November. The solar park was realized on a former commercial area in the midst of a Czech vineyard. Several ruins had to be demolished in advance. The installation is exemplary for the reasonable use of a fallow area, which was originally used for commercial purposes. On an area of 2.6 hectares and with a peak performance of 0.99 MWp, it produces 0.89 million kilowatt hours of solar energy per year. This covers the electricity requirements of 250 three-person households. 5.508 Sunowe modules and one SMA inverter transform sunlight into electricity.

Gehrlicher Solar AG has been operating in the Czech Republic since March 2010. With the solar parks in Mysliv, Zlonin and Hovorany, the Bavarian company has realized its largest projects in the Czech Republic, thus far. Mysliv and Zlonin will be financed and operated by Czech and international investors; Hovorany solely by Czech.
