'EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards' take place on February 10th

PARIS, LONDON, DUBAI, MOSCOW - The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ will take place in Monte Carlo on 10th February 2011 in association with DISTREE XXL, EMEA’s largest channel event for distributors and vendors. Now entering its third year ‘The EMEA Channel Academy’ gala dinner and awards evening has become the benchmark for evaluating distribution success in the EMEA market, thanks to its open and transparent live voting system.

Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, said: “We are delighted that the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ are once again taking place alongside DISTREE XXL. Since their launch in 2009, the awards have grown and matured as vendors and distributors from across EMEA understand the intrinsic value created through the unique voting system that determines the winners.”

A total of 24 channel awards will be won at the 2011 event, with 12 vendor categories, 10 for distributors plus two senior executives joining the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: Hall of Fame’. Prior to the gala dinner, which takes place in the glittering Salle des Etoiles venue in 2011, thousands of vendor and channel executives will be polled to nominate finalists for each category.

During the live electronic voting at the gala dinner, hundreds of distributors use electronic voting devices to pick their preferred vendor in each category. Members of the vendor jury then have their chance to vote for their preferred distributor by region, based on the five companies nominated in each category.
“We are delighted to announce the addition of some new vendor categories in 2011 in response to requests from both distributors and vendors,” added Hemraj.

“Previously there was one category dedicated to peripherals. For 2011, this is effectively split into five separate awards: mobile communications, home networking, gaming, storage and imaging.”

The full list of vendor awards is as follows:

Desktop/Notebook/Netbook Vendor of the Year
Accessories Vendor of the Year
Software Vendor of the Year
Components Vendor of the Year
Digital Lifestyle Vendor of the Year
Printing Vendor of the Year
Mobile Communications Vendor of the Year
Home Networking Vendor of the Year
Gaming Vendor of the Year
Storage Vendor of the Year
Imaging Vendor of the Year
Vendor Channel Initiative of the Year

The awards for distributors remain unchanged:

Africa Distributor of the Year
Central & Eastern Europe Distributor of the Year
Dach Distributor of the Year
Middle East & North Africa Distributor of the Year
Northern Europe Distributor of the Year
Russia & CIS Distributor of the Year
South East Europe Distributor of the Year
Southern Europe Distributor of the Year
UK & Ireland Distributor of the Year
Channel Initiative Distributor of the Year

“The guest list for the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ includes the leading channel executives in the EMEA region – from vendors, distributors and e-tailers,” said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events. “These awards represent the pinnacle of regional achievement for companies and individuals associated with the ICT & CE channel in EMEA.”

“The best awards have transparent and open voting processes,” added Hemraj. “That’s why we continue to use live electronic voting during the gala dinner. Commercial interests and the politics that can sometimes influence vendor and magazine awards do not come into consideration.”

More than 1,000 senior channel executives from 80-pluc countries, including representatives from 100-plus vendors, are set to attend the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’. For further information on attending the event, reserving tables, sponsorship opportunities and voting procedures, please contact DISTREE Events using the details below.
