Longboat Key, FL. ExtremeElements TV will be going to Argentina to cover the 8th stop of the 2010 Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA) World Tour, which will be hosted by Argentina for the very first time. The event, dubbed, “Kitesurf World Cup Bariloche Argentina” will be held from November 2 - 6, 2010 at the magnificent Lake Nahuel Huapi in San Carlos de Bariloche. This magnificent lake region of the northern Patagonia also plays host to several extreme sports including kitesurfing. Lake Nahuel Huapi offers a perfectly challenging venue for the PKRA athletes with its cold choppy waters, waves averaging 1 to 3 meters and stone-dazzled beaches.

The Argentinian event is unique in its own rights because in addition to being the only venue for this year’s tour on a lake, not to mention being the coldest competition area this season, Argentina is also home to Martin Vari – PKRA’s first ever crowned world champion.

Freestyle and Course Racing are the two official disciplines for this Tour stop and the organizers are expecting to have a lot of the upcoming kiteboard riders from South American countries to participate, including from Venezuela, Brazil and Colombia in addition to the expected contingent from Argentina. As the official media company of the PKRA, ExtremeElements TV will be covering the event live and will be providing minute-by-minute update of the competition as it happens on extremeelements.tv.

Mauricio Toscano, PKRA President said, “We are extremely excited that we will be able to finally have an event in Argentina which took us almost a year to plan. This particular Tour stop is a milestone in the field of kiteboarding especially for San Carlos de Bariloche as it will not only promote the tourism in the region but it will also further boost the PKRA’s foothold as the best professional kiteboarding organization in the world. We are also extremely excited that once again, the team of ExtremeElements TV will be covering the event just as they did in the past Tour stops.”

The Argentinian Tour stop also plays a crucial role with regards to the current World Ranking in the men’s Freestyle division as the top three world title contenders, Andy Yates (AUS), Alex Pastor (ESP) and Youri Zoon (NED) are just a few points from each other. Kevin Langeree (NED) currently sits in number 2 spot at the moment but being unable to attend the last three stops because of injury means he will be slipping down the rankings soon. In the women’s Freestyle division, the championship title is likewise a three-way battle between Gisela Pulido (ESP), Karolina Winkowska (POL) and 2009 world champion Bruna Kajiya (BRA).

With Martin Vari helping the organizers setup the event area, preparations are going very well and the PKRA staff and crew, including the ExtremeElements TV production team are expected to head off to Bariloche in the last week of October to prepare early for the event.
