Bühler Motor reinforces its R&D division

Dr. Ralph Böhm is the new Bühler Motor Vice President Research and Development

Since the beginning of October, Bühler Motor’s R&D division is the responsibility of the very experienced Dr. Ralph Böhm. As Vice President Research and Development he is responsible and a focal point for the Bühler Motor Group development activities worldwide.

Previously, Dr. Ralph Böhm (46) was head of the Friedrichshafen-based automotive supplier ZF’s electromechanics, electrohydraulics and sensor technology division, where he focused upon the development of components for the planetary automatic-, hybrid- and dual clutch transmissions, including actuators, electronic pumps, mechatronics modules and software.

Dr. Böhm started his career as a development engineer at Karl Storz GmbH & Co. KG in Tuttlingen, where he was the project manager of a EU project for the development of surgical simulators using VR software.

Since the fall of 2000, Dr. Böhm then ran various responsibilities at ZF, e.g. as project manager and head of dual clutch control systems development department. He focused upon the development of electronic control systems, sensor technology, actuator technology and the software for planetary automatic transmissions, CVT and dual clutch transmissions, among other things.

The engineer Böhm has a doctorate and has acquired a reputation as a successful developer. He also has a lot of experience in managing interdisciplinary teams.

By thus completing its management, Bühler underscores its commitment to a further expansion of its capacities for a development of customized drive solutions.
