Cervilenz Inc. to Present at the premier MedTech Conference – AdvaMed 2010
CLEVELAND, OH – October 14, 2010Cervilenz Inc. has been selected to present the company's background, progress and future plans Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at AdvaMed 2010 in Washington, DC. The presentation will take place at 10:30 am in Room 204A at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Cervilenz Inc. is currently introducing its innovative medical device – CerviLenz® – to the obstetrics marketplace with great success. The first and only device of its kind, CerviLenz is a simple, cost effective, disposable medical device that measures vaginal cervical length objectively. A short cervix during pregnancy is the best predictor of preterm birth risk.
Preterm birth can be a devastating pregnancy outcome, affecting over 12% of pregnancies in the United States and the leading cause of infant mortality and morbidity. The Institute of Medicine estimates that the economic cost of preterm birth in the United State is more than $26 billion annually.
"We look forward to sharing the CerviLenz story with the audience at AdvaMed 2010," said Dean Koch, President and CEO. “Identifying pregnant women at risk of preterm birth is vital for delivering the right care at the right time. Progesterone therapy is now emerging as an intervention for pregnant women with a short cervix. CerviLenz is perfectly positioned to help clinicians quickly identify which pregnant women can benefit from such therapy.”
