HPG Tax Leader Joins Alzheimer’s North Carolina Board

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 14, 2010) ― Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that tax manager Melinda Hager has been appointed to the board of directors of Alzheimer’s North Carolina, Inc. (alznc.org). Hager is serving a two-year term and has been selected as treasurer.

“Alzheimer’s North Carolina does so much to help educate and support individuals, their families and health care professionals,” says Hager. “I am proud to join the organization and help fight this devastating disease.”

Hager has 17 years of public accounting experience, 10 as a CPA. She has been with HPG since 2009, focusing her concentration on the construction, real estate, manufacturing, health care and professional services industries.

Alzheimer’s North Carolina provides family support, community education, public awareness and supports research for the prevention, cure and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The organization focuses it services in 51 North Carolina counties from the Triangle to the coast. It is estimated that more than 140,000 people in the state are affected by Alzheimer’s, with this total expected to quadruple by 2025.
