Sonic Studio & Partners Will Intro and Preview New High End Audio Gear

Denver – October 15, 2010 — Once again, over 4,000 audio enthusiasts will gather in Denver, Colorado for this fall’s 7th annual Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. The Amarra product family will be showcased by its creator, Sonic Studio, LLC, in conjunction with several channel partners. OEM partner Weiss Engineering Ltd., SimpliFi Audio, Locus Design, Von Schweikert Audio and Balanced Power Technologies LLC will all feature Amarra in their suites.

Sonic Studio will stage public demonstrations of two new Amarra products. A brief look at the show highlights include:

• introduction of the new 2.1 release of Amarra & Amarra MINI
• previews of Amarra Vinyl, a new Vinyl capture & restoration application
• introduction of Amarra Complete, a new plug & play music solution for Mac OS
• demonstrations of the full range of Amarra computer music solutions

All members of the Amarra family will be available for critical evaluation, providing easy computer playback of high resolution files for any budget. Amarra version 2.1 and Amarra MINI version 2.1 will be shown publicly, with release targeted for November of this year.

Amarra 2.1 improves on the analog-like sound quality of previous versions, with new features and a new playback mode. The new feature set includes the greatly anticipated RAM–based cache playback. Cache play is true memory reproduction for all play modes, including playlists and CDs, and yields sterling gapless listening, free of hard disk access for music file reads.

To accommodate the many high resolution download services now on line, Amarra 2.1 also includes native FLAC support. For listeners who want to actively shape their sound, advanced equalization has been added, helping to dial in room correction, timbral adjustments and frequency–based problem solving. Amarra 2.1 also includes a choice of two redithering algorithms, Sonic Studio’s proprietary shaped TPDF dither, and iZotope’s MBIT+.

Also on tap for the show are the first public demonstrations of two new products from Sonic Studio, Amarra Vinyl™ and Amarra Complete™. Amarra Vinyl provides all of the capabilities of Amarra with a complete vinyl to tracks workflow. It combines stereo recording up to 192 kHz, with full 4 band Sonic EQ™ and a select set from the award winning NoNOISE II™ restoration suite.

Another new product debuting at the show is Amarra Complete, a preconfigured music server solution for Apple Mac computers. Complete takes the comprehensive features of Amarra and makes computer music as easy as plug and listen. The Amarra Complete solution delivers a fully loaded music drive, pre–configured with licensed copies of Amarra and Mac OS 10.6, all optimized for music playback. Amarra Complete is an easy, Plug&Play solution for audiophiles who want to enjoy the sound of Amarra without having to learn how to set up and use a computer.

“We greatly appreciate the continued international praise we’ve received for Amarra," said Jonathan Reichbach, president of Sonic Studio. “Our goal is to bring the best of our professional heritage to home audio enthusiasts.  Most exciting is the upcoming release of Amarra Vinyl, a complete ‘Vinyl to Tracks’ application designed to provide the same recording and archiving tools used by major studios and institutions worldwide.”

The entire Amarra family, with versions to fit every budget, will be shown in Sonic Studio’s Suite 403 at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. Hourly demonstrations are scheduled, as well as Amarra Vinyl demos from 5 PM to 6 on Friday and Saturday.
