VAG TERRA® lock Tapping Bridge with patented Plug Fitting

VAG is expanding its range of house connection valves by a new patented plug connection system. The VAG TERRA® Tapping Bridge was completed by a fitting with the proven VAG BAIO®plus connection technology. The plug fitting allows the fast, easy and tension-proof connection to the house connection line.

Due to the new patented and flexible segmental clamping ring in the fitting, the house connection line can be easily plugged into the tapping bridge by hand. Improper assembly is excluded by the special shape of the segmental clamping ring which ensures automatic centring in the body. Additionally, chamfering of the PE pipeline is no longer necessary with this system. Thanks to this technology, the plug connection can be assembled fast and easily even by unskilled staff, which will reduce the costs of new installations.

The segmental clamping ring has been equipped with a special intermittent surface structure to prevent the notch effect around the PE pipeline. Later disassembly is possible at any time and without any tools. This becomes possible due to the segmental clamping ring which can be handled from outside the body. An additional supporting ring protects the plugged-in PE pipe against excessive deformation by tensile loads. An elastic, bellows-shaped rubber seal prevents dirt from penetrating into the sleeve.

The robust cast components are perfectly suitable for the demanding conditions in the pipe trench and are completely EPP coated. Due to manual assembly without tools, the high corrosion protection, the flexibility of the connection and the threadless interlock technology, the service life of the VAG TERRA®lock Tapping Bridge is significantly increased. The complete system can be rotated by up to 40° in both directions, which makes the assembly of the house connection line in the pipe trench considerably easier.

The VAG TERRA®lock M1 Tapping Bridge is available for cast iron pipes and the TERRA®lock K3 Tapping Bridge is available for PVC and PE pipes in nominal diameters of DN 80 up to DN 300. Both types are approved for use with drinking water. The plug fitting is suitable for PE pipes SDR 11 da 32, da 40 and da 50.
