Press release from: ChemImage Corporation

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 23, 2010 — ChemImage Corporation recently reached an agreement with Light Ace HK LTD, a China-based distributor of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and services, to offer the Falcon II Wide-Field Raman Chemical Imaging System and select analytical contract services in China.

“This agreement affirms the value chemical imaging can bring to the international marketplace,” said Jim McGlone, president at ChemImage. “We look forward to working with Light Ace to develop a stronger presence in China.”

The only system of its kind optimized for both chemical imaging, and spectroscopy, the Falcon II identifies material morphology, composition, structure, size and concentration of constituents in a sample. Falcon II services now offered through Light Ace include ingredient-specific particle sizing, polymorph analysis, content uniformity and controlled release characterization applications.

“We’re pleased to be adding this instrument to our innovative line of product offerings,” said Jason Wu, general manager of Light Ace HK Limited. “Due to its versatility and superior discrimination ability, we’re confident that our target market will be receptive to the Falcon II and its service offerings.”

Raman chemical imaging (RCI), a technique that combines digital imaging with spectroscopy, is used to obtain spectrally and spatially resolved images of a sample. ChemImage RCI products utilize liquid-crystal tunable filter technology, allowing for more precise chemical identification and size measurement.
