Berlin, 06. December 2006 – The iconmobile group, international specialist for business and entertainment offerings in the mobile telephony field, has completed Version 2.0 of its Video Service Platform (vsp) for mobile devices. The current expansion stage of the vsp offers mobile web publishers and portal operators a wide range of possibilities for publishing and marketing video content on mobile devices such as mobile telephones, Apple Video iPod and Sony PSP. Video files in all established formats can be stored on the vsp 2.0 using an intuitive web interface and made available to the end user as downloads or streams via a wide range of channels. The platform offers producers, editors and program directors a wide variety of tools for program design and for the automatic generation of high-quality, value-added services on a diverse range of mobile portals. All technical processes such as coding and delivery of video content are completely backgrounded and do not require user interaction. Finally, the vsp 2.0 supports all established billing methods for quantity and time-based charging for ordered content. Furthermore, in combination with the iconmobile group’s adserver technology, the video service platform allows for the automatic integration of advertising banners in the titles and credits of video clips. All this provides the foundation for new and attractive business models for the production and publication of video content.

A minimum of menu decisions allows video files in Mpeg, Quicktime, Windows Media, AVI and DV formats to be hosted and provided with preview images, genre indications, age ratings and digital rights declarations. Other editorial capacities include the creation of dynamic playlists, the selection of publication channels and the specification of preferred service formats for retail (Browser Shop, Browser Gallery). The multilingual web interface can easily be integrated into established workflow tools such as Jira Enterprise and thus offers the maximum degree of user comfort.
