Germany, Dortmund, 17 May 2010 --“real-IT-y” is a job fair organized by the Technical University of Dortmund for students and graduates of the IT faculty. The young professionals visiting the fair get insights into the working environment of the presenting companies. The fair is organized by the Alumni of the University in collaboration with the IT faculty and aims at giving orientation in the job market as well as connecting to potential employers.
Rapid-I presents at the real-IT-y 2010 for a first time. The company with headquarters in Dortmund was founded by the two graduates of the local university Dr. Ingo Mierswa (CEO) and Ralf Klinkenberg (CBDO). Dr. Ingo Mierswa is looking forward to providing insights into the working environment at Rapid-I: “I myself have studied in Dortmund and highly appreciate the support of the university through the complete time. By participating in the real-IT-y, Rapid-I wants to keep the connection to the university as well as to help young professionals with their career choice.”
The company Rapid-I also provides diploma and masters theses in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Unit led by Prof. Dr. Morik. This is another opportunity to gain some insights into real-world analysis problems. “The work at Rapid-I differs a lot of that of more traditional software and service providers due to the open source business model build around our products RapidMiner and RapidAnalytics”, explains Mierswa. “A particular high degree of innovation, agile and community-driven development, and professional support of our customers meet in our everyday work.”
