SGS to Host Aerospace Day in Dortmund, Germany

SGS is pleased to announce the December 5, 2012 Open House event at the SGS premised located in Dortmund, Germany. All interested parties are cordially invited to participate in the SGS Aerospace Day. Registration is required.

Body: The testing and inspection company SGS is extending its services for the aerospace industry and has recently been awarded the Nadcap Merit Status for the Material Testing Laboratories (MTL) sector. The SGS Dortmund laboratory is the only independent testing facility in Germany with a Nadcap MTL Certification for Metallography and Hardness Testing. This means that it can officially certify critical safety tests on components for the aerospace industry.

In order to get an in-depth insight into the services offered, SGS invites all interested parties to participate in their Aerospace Day on December 05, 2012. The laboratories in Joseph-von-Fraunhofer-Str. 13 in Dortmund will be open from 09:00 am.

During the opening symposium, industry experts will share their knowledge on supply chain management, Nadcap and the global challenges for suppliers of the aerospace industry, as well as quality control and failure analysis. For example, Dr. Christoph Schrempp, Head of Cabin & Cargo Quality at Airbus, will talk about the Airbus quality standards.

Following the presentations, registered visitors will have the opportunity to take a tour of the entire SGS laboratory.

SGS is a qualified partner for Nadcap Approval Tests on metal components in Germany, such as high-performance materials in engines, structural components and landing gear. Additionally, as a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 certified testing laboratory, the SGS Dortmund office (http://www.sgs.com/en/Solutions-Path/Solutions-for-the-Aerospace-Industry.aspx) provides its aerospace industry customers with numerous other targeted management strategies - ranging from the evaluation of systems, components and their materials in terms of their physicochemical characteristics; to research for development or damage analysis.
