Press release from: Panorama Antennas

A market leader in the design and manufacture of high performance antennas, Panorama Antennas has recently announced the release of the LGMQM4, the family of 4x4 MiMo LTE antennas.
Designed to support state-of-the-art communications technology in fleet routers, LGMQM4, the low profile MiMo antenna contains up to 9 isolated antenna elements; 4x4 MiMo ultra wideband LTE elements covering 698-3800MHz; 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 MiMo dual band WiFi elements covering 2.4/4.9-6GHz and a high performance GNSS antenna with an integrated 26dB gain LNA. The elements are configured to provide high isolation and low correlation for best performance and the antenna includes GNSS technology coverage for multiple satellite systems including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou (BDS).
Although the LTE elements are designed for 4x4 MiMo operation, it is possible to utilise these as 2 pairs of 2x2 MiMo for a router that has 2 SIMS (radio) in a failover configuration, making the antenna an ideal to meet public safety telecommunications needs.
“Panorama has built a reputation over 70 years on supplying the market with high quality, innovative and cost effective solutions and this latest innovation is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s mobile environment” said Robert Jesman, Sales Director of Panorama Antennas. “Due to the antenna having four LTE elements in one housing it is the ideal product to be able to supply in the case of network redundancy. I am very pleased to share that we have a case study already available where this antenna has proved to be successfully deployed in the field.”
Combining different technologies into a single housing, the antenna promotes ease of installation, thus reducing antenna footprint on the vehicle, reducing installation lead time and cost and improving vehicle resale. The 4x4 MiMo LTE Antenna range does not require a metallic ground plane and maintains a high level of performance even when mounted on a non-metallic surface therefore suitable for any vehicle.

MIMO refers to multiple-input, multiple-output antenna. MIMO with a large number of base station antennas often called massive MIMO. MIMO is the mechanism to increase the number of installed antenna on a radio. Multiple antennas were installed together at the transmitter and receiver end to provide better throughput and better spectrum efficiency. This further helps in creating multiple receive and transmit paths between the base station and the end device,
