Mainz, Germany and New York, USA, April 14, 2010: Mobile social solutions provider match2blue announced today the launch of the air travel industry’s first location-, time- and interest-based social networking application Miles & More MemberScout for BlackBerry®. The smartphone application, already available for the iPhone® since March and designed to meet the requirements of frequent flyers, was created by German-American enterprise match2blue for Miles & More, Europe’s leading frequent flyer program Miles & More MemberScout offers frequent flyers a multifunctional community tool with which members can connect, engage with each other and get useful information, according to the principle: “Share your knowledge.”

With the help of MemberScout’s ‘Scout Around’ function, users can locate other nearby frequent flyers and get in touch with each other via the internal messaging function. Information requests like “Where can I have the best Sushi in New York?“ can be transmitted and also answered immediately by other frequent flyers thanks to MemberScout’s real time technology. Another useful tool is an information window at the end of the display providing information about news, friend requests or offers from local stores or other Miles & More partners.

“We are pleased to provide our customers with a sophisticated tool with which they can profit from the interaction with other frequent flyers,” says Torsten Wingenter from Miles & More. „The Q&A forum, which can be used by our clients to send us a direct request, gives us the opportunity to immediately respond to their needs.”

“The benefit of an app ‘powered by match2blue‘ is that contrary to a social network of an already established brand we are able to provide such a mobile social environment for every business or enterprise,” says Stephanie Renda, CEO of match2blue. “The enterprise truly owns the application, it’s not a 3rd party product. Additionally, today’s user expect to get all relevant information immediately, without having to look for it. The information must find the customer, not vice versa. Therefore, real time transaction and matching, the automatic reconciliation of interests and information, will be the two most important technologies in the near future.”

The heart of match2blue’s unique technology is its matching engine. It can model every single entity of the real world, such as persons, buildings, restaurants, etc. Those entities can be compared to each other according to location, time and content - called Ambient Awareness at match2blue.
